Hospice Care Services
Hospice is an approach to care, which means it is not tied to a specific place.
Hospice care can be offered in many types of settings including private residences, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, as well as dedicated hospice facilities. Most often care is provided in a private home with a family member typically serving as the primary caregiver, but it can also occur in a nursing home or wherever the patient calls home.
Home Hospice Care
Care delivered in the home, wherever the patient calls home, with prescheduled visits from hospice team members. Family, friends or caregivers serve as the primary caregiver in the patient’s familiar environment.
Is it time for Hospice?
Hospice care can begin when a doctor decides that your loved one’s life expectancy is six months or less if the illness follows its predicted path.
Inpatient Care
When your loved one experiences symptoms too severe to be managed at home, short-stay inpatient care is available. Hospice professionals provide round-the-clock care and support.
Hospice Support Services
Grief and Loss Support
Grief and loss services for those who have experienced the death of a loved one and who may need support or guidance in dealing with their sorrow. Grief support groups and individual grief counseling are available.
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Treating both the physical needs as well as the emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients is an essential principle of hospice care.
Why choose Harry Hynes Hospice?
Our number one priority is our patients and their families, and our mission is to enable people to live with dignity and hope while coping with loss and terminal illness.
We are your local non-profit mission-focused hospice with four decades of experience. On those two merits alone, we have become the leader in end-of-life care in the communities we serve.
Kind words from families like yours.
There are so many reasons to choose Harry Hynes Hospice – but the most important is the exceptional care and support we give to our patients and their families.
Thank you for all the fabulous care you gave our Dad over the last 6 years between palliative care and hospice. He always enjoyed your visits. One of your nurses was the rock that cared for him most recently. Thank you to the Chaplain for meeting with my brother and I. And for being here for us at Dad’s graveside.
Children of Patient Served
My wife and I agree that if we could give Harry Hynes a 10+ we would. You have cared for three of our loved ones in the last 4 years. We wouldn’t use anybody else in this business.
Thank you so much for caring for us and being here (for us also) to the end for our Mother who passed. Your organization is absolutely wonderful. We want to express special praise for Brittany, Megan, Janet, Mindy, Rebecca, Samantha, LaNier, and Okkyoung. We wouldn’t have known what to do to get through these last few months without you folks. Like my wife says you all are a fine-tuned organization of specially trained Ninjas! Always organized, knowledgeable, wonderfully compassionate, and work so well together and are always there, 24/7, 365 days a year. We will be forever grateful.
Family of Patient(s) Served
To the team at Harry Hynes, we cannot fully convey our heart felt gratitude and appreciation for all you did for our father. He was able to transition from this life to the next with dignity and with family at his side. Thank you.
Son of Patient Served
To everyone on my Mother’s care team, thank you to each and every one who helped Mom and my family through this difficult transition. I am so grateful you made sure she wasn’t alone when she passed. Words cannot adequately express how much I loved my Mom. Your care for her was exceptional and
greatly appreciated.

Harry Hynes Hospice Staff,
We would like to thank you for everything that you did for our family during our Mother’s stay in your care. From the moment you sat down with us to when she took her last breath, we could feel how much your staff cared. You gave us peace in a terrible situation and we appreciate that very much. You are a very special group of people. Thank you.
Family of Patient Served
Even though our mom was in your hospice care less than 24 hours, the loving care that was provided by all staff was exemplary and greatly appreciated.
Family of Patient Served
Thank you so much for the services offered to my dad prior to his passing at the hospice inpatient care at St. Francis. My family appreciates the care given.
Daughter of Patient Served
Thank you so much for your care for my mother. It was not long, but in the short time that your nurse was there, I felt the compassion that she had for my mom. Thank you.
